Zhang Juzheng Memorial, as a famous cultural scenic spot and
tourist attraction also called Zhang Juzheng Tomb Garden, is located in the
downtown Zhang Juzheng Road..The yard covers an area of more than 10 mu (about
6,666㎡). There are stone figures, horses, turtles, lions and so on in the
yard.
Zhang Juzheng Memorial began its rebuilt in 2004 and was completed in
2005. It now covers an area of 14,229㎡. The tomb yard is rectangular in shape
and orientated north and south. The main constructions are distributed on an
axis from south to north: Stone Archway, Stone Lion, Mountain Gate, Half-Moon
Pond, Statue of Zhang Juzheng, Sacred Way and Tombstone. To the east of the
auxiliary buildings is Taiyue Hall where Zhang Juzheng’s portrait, traditional
Chinese classic Tutorial Pictures for the Emperors and many other precious
cultural relics are on display. The west side is Chunzhong Hall. Zhang Juzheng
Tomb Yard is dotted with palaces rising and falling, surrounded by galleries and
pavilions. It is full of gingkos, Cinnamomum hupehanums, cypresses, plum trees
and bamboos. Zhang Juzheng Tomb Garden is built with stones and large bricks.
There are a pair of peristyles together with stone tigers, sheep, horses and
human statues in each side of the Sacred Way.
